"Honor a Hero" — Holiday Extravanganza
Saturday, December 11, 2004 — The regular monthly birthday party becomes a holiday extravaganza in December! Donors are encouraged to send gifts to the troops for delivery by Santa on Saturday, December 11th. Please mail your donations to: Helping Our Heroes Foundation, 21010 Southbank Street, #805, Potomac Falls, VA 20165. Presents should be unwrapped with a card enclosed noting your name and address for potential correspondance with a soldier. Appropriate gifts include: videos, dvd's, game players, books, stationery, sweat clothes, small suitcases on wheels, telephone calling cards, calendars and journals, men's cologne, electric razors, team associated sports items (hats, etc.), fast food gift certificates. "Hire a Hero" Career Night
Wednesday, December 8, 2004 The first Hire a Hero career night will take place at WRAMC and be open to anyone injured from service in either OIF/OEF. Those soldiers that have decided to choose another career path after their service will be introduced to potential employers who have openings and are ready to hire. The number of companies invited to attend this first time will be limited, so please sign up now. The event will be from 6-9pm and at WRAMC, Bldg. 41 (Patient Recreation Center).

Resume Writing and Career Night
Wednesday, November 17, 2004 — The foundation hosts a resume writing and career workshop for patients at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda — open to all of those injured and still hospitalized as well as those released as outpatients. A group of volunteers will present a 30 minute program on crafting your resume, researching new career options, and networking, followed by 90 minutes of small group and one-on-one coaching.
7-9pm at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Bldg. 41 (Patient Recreation Center) WRAMC.
